Wilma "Jeanie" Jean Herring

Wilma " Jeanie" Herring, age 82, passed away peacefully June 6, 2025 with her family lovingly gathered around her.

Jeanie was born October 24,1942 in Alton, IL. She was a foster daughter to William and Alice Conyear. She later married the love of her life, Robert Herring at Carlinville Assembly of God Church on February 14, 2004.

She had a servant's heart and was known best for her beautiful quilts and for her love of fishing. Her family and friends valued and loved her deeply. Jeanie had a few house rules, love Jesus and absolutely no naked barbies! 

We are all going to miss her Texas cake and her chicken and dumplings.

Jeanie and her church friend group would love playing cards and eating Little Ceasars Pizza into the early morning hours. They also loved going on cruises together.

Jeanie is survived by three sons, Charles (Shiela) Louvier of Alton, Brian (Tammy) Louvier of Florida, and Timothy Louvier of Fairview Heights; Step-daughter, Bobbi (Ron) Steinkuehler;  Seventeen grandchildren, Stefanie (Jay) Barnard, Jim (Felicia) Louvier, Brandon (Amanda) Louvier, Heather (Chris) Dixon, Jessica Louvier, Cheyenne Louvier, Tyler Louvier, Jasmine Louvier, Carli Louvier, Savannah Louvier, Ashton Phelps and Ashton's mother, Sarah Hausman, Shawn and Connie Clark, Doug and Anna Steinkuehler, Robert and Kelly Steinkuehler, Justin and Tiffany Steinkuehler, Chris and Whitney Steinkuehler; sister, Vicki Ploch; several nieces and nephews; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Herring; son, Michael S. Louvier; sisters, Mildred (Eugene) Fleming, Eilleen (James) Baker, Shirley Bunt, Geri (Walter) Schroeder,  Ricky Schlichting, and David Allen Willeford Louvier.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a celebration of life service following at 11 am at Marks Mortuary on June 20, 2025. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Upper Alton Cemetery.
