Wilma Titsworth Obituary

Wilma Lee Titsworth, passed away peacefully, April 7, 2024.

Born August 14, 1936 in Mt. Vernon, she was the daughter of James P. and Lela May (Mann) Brown.

On July 16, 1954 in Wood River, she married Jimmy Lee Titsworth, sharing 40 years of happiness.

Wilma was a wonderful homemaker and very loved mother of Samuel Titsworth, Cindy Titsworth Spano, and Thomas Titsworth.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, DeeAnn Titsworth; her beloved nephew and niece, Bill and Carol Davison; her much loved niece and nephew, Jane and Dale; special nephew, Jim Bick; four grandchildren, Michael Titsworth, Lou Spano, Vince Spano, and Angela Spano; and several great grandchildren whom she love dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three children; grandchildren, Melissa Titsworth, Joey Spano; brothers, Gale and Ray Brown; and sisters, Jean Heck, and Vernita Childers.

Wilma was given the amazing gift of long life. With that long life came many years of happiness. Throughout, she continued to enjoy her family, her friends, her beautiful home, her beautiful yard full of flowers, and her winters spent in Florida with good friend, Carol Rosenthal. She loved staying busy by volunteering at the Wood River Library, The Fabulous Fox Theater, and enjoyed playing cards each week with friends at the Bethalto Senior Citizens Center. She was also very blessed to have such wonderful neighbors.

Everyone who loved Wilma will miss her great sense of humor and her determination to enjoy life to the fullest. She was our shining example of strength.
