Wesley Frank James

Wesley Frank James, age 58, passed away on May 24, 2025. 

Born on June 19, 1966, Wesley was the beloved son of Lawrence (Jesse) Edward James and Frances Maxine (Smith) James. 

Wesley was known for his kind heart and sense of humor. He carried the James family spirit—quick to laugh and never met a stranger. His presence brought comfort, his words brought smiles, and his love for family ran deep. 

He was the proud father of Dylan Thomas James, and although distance kept them apart, Wesley's love for his son and grandchildren was unwavering. Wesley is survived by his son Dylan, his granddaughters Kinzi Fae James and Emberly Faith James, his brother Jack Robert James, and his sister DeAnna Maxine (James) Humphrey. He was a cherished uncle to Jaclyn Nichole James, Cody James Duff (preceded in death), Kaley Maxine Humphrey, and Payten Renee' Humphrey, and a loving great-uncle to Steven Jay Hart III, Olivia Marie Cundiff, Layne Austin Campbell, and Anakin Oliver Brown. 

He was preceded in death by his father and his beloved nephew, Cody James Duff, with whom he shared a special bond. 

He leaves behind memories that will be treasured and a legacy of love that will never fade.

Graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, May 28 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.  Frank Akers will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of expenses.
