Virginia Rose Wallace, 80, passed away June 22, 2025 at her home.
Born January 22, 1945 in Hardin, she was the daughter of Abner and Wilma (Bull) Johnson.
She had worked in Custodial Services and bus driver for East Alton-Wood River High School several years before retiring.
On May 11, 1979 in Edwardsville, she married Charles Alvin Wallace. He died October 25, 2010.
Surviving are three sons, Robert (Michelle) Wilkinson of Godfrey, Timothy (Mary) Wilkinson of Easily, SC, Ricky (Christina) Wilkinson of Bunker Hill; two daughters, Cindy Ridihalgh of Wood River, Mary (Anthony) Brooks of Brighton; two stepchildren, Britt Wallace and Blake Wallace both of St. Louis; 23 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Betty) Johnson of Grafton; two sisters, Teresa Hill of Grafton, Carol Slaton of Brighton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Wilkinson; and two sisters, Betty Klaffer and Letha Lawson.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 11:30 am, Saturday, June 28 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Timothy Wilkinson will officiate.
Burial will follow in Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.
