Valerie June (Battersby) Owens

Valerie June Owens, 83, passed away March 30, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Born June 3, 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Flurey) Battersby.

She had worked as a receptionist for Borden Dairy.

She is survived by a son, David Ladd of East Alton; daughter, Laura Elledge (Dan McGaughey) of Glen Carbon; three grandchildren, Kelly (Austin) Johnson, Megan (Zach) Dattoli, David Ladd, Genifer (Steve) Van Pelt; and two great grandchildren, Alex Van Pelt, and Hayden Van Pelt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Louise Young.

Cremation rites were accorded.
