Sylvia LaVerne Yates, 84, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Bria Healthcare of Wood River.

Born January 28, 1939 in Ridgely, TN, she was the daughter of Vernon and Lillian (Jordan) Coleman.

Surviving are a son, Danny Yates of St. Genevieve, MO; daughter, Tamara Tannahill of Bethalto; five grandchildren; and a sister, Lawanda Nichols of Bogoto, TN.

Private service and burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
