Sally Mary Frederick, 85, passed away at 5:18 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 surrounded by her family.
She was born September 4, 1940 in Alton, the daughter of Jesse and Lucy Ballesteroz also of Alton. Sally was a homemaker early in life. She later joined her husband, Dr. Richard Frederick in his dental practice in Galatia, IL, serving as office manager and assistant for many years until their retirement.
Sally loved spending time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed playing BINGO and loved celebrating her Mexican Heritage.
She is survived by her five daughters and two step-daughters, Susan (Kenny) Everage of Cottage Hills, Brenda (Bruce) Staggs of Independence, MO, Teri Mortland of East Alton, Tracy Westerhold of Bunker Hill, Rhonda (Sanford) Dickey of Largo, FL, Melanie (Bruce) Rhodes of Godfrey, and Michelle (David) Palmer of Alton; 11 grandkids; numerous great grandkids; and a sister, Virginia (Tim) Sanders of Bethalto.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Carmen Cook; and son-in-law, Mark Westerhold.
Sally lived her life with great integrity, honesty, laughter, and love for all. She will be remembered for her great love to her family and many friends and will be greatly missed!
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to 5 A's Animal Shelter as Sally had a great love for cats.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial at 1 pm, Saturday, March 21 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
There are no after service plans.
