Ronald Louis Newby

Ronald Louis Newby, 57, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, August 12, 2024 at his home.

Born February 5, 1967 in Carlinville, he was the son of Thomas and Fayetta (Ross) Newby.

He had been employed as a delivery driver for O'Reilly Auto Parts. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, attending car shows with his 1966 International Pick-up Truck, as well as spending time with his family.

On July 4, 1982 in East Alton, he married Sherry Daffron.  She survives.

Surviving also are two sons, Charles (Tonya) Newby of New Douglas, Andy (Morgan) Newby of Prairietown; three grandchildren, Caiden, Mason, and Finley; a sister, Rachel (Buddy) McGee; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Carter Riley Newby; two brothers, Dean Newby and Larry Newby; nephew, Buddy "Joey"; and niece, Mary Grace.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Friday, August 16 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Tony Whetsel will officiate.

Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of expenses.
