Ronald Goodman Obituary

Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Goodman, 77, passed away February 28, 2026 at his residence.

Born July 28, 1948 in McClure, IL, he was the son of George Goodman and Sylvia (Pryor) Pittman.

A  U.S. Navy, Vietnam veteran, he had been employed as an Senior Producer for NBC News in New York for 30 years before retiring in 2008. He then became the Public Relations officer for the Revelon Corporation.

On July 19, 1983 in New York, he married Melanie Horbeth.  She died October 10, 2009. He had been raised in Hartford prior to moving to New York and flollowing the death of his wife, returned to Bethalto to be near his family.

Surviving are his special nieces, Brittany "Sunshine" (Luke) Sanders, Courtney "Sassy" Inman; nephew and best friend, Kenny (Cindy) Inman; a step-son, Jesse Brennan of San Francisco, CA;  step-granddaughter, Katherine Brennan; a brother, Alfred (Judy) Goodman; and sisters, Norma Goben of Hartford, and Debbie (David) Hornschemeier of Cincinnati, OH; special nephews, Theo Sanders, Roman Sanders, Eli Fay, Ariya Mueller; also nieces and nephews, Gary Inman, Kerri Inman, Rhonda Lewis, Mark (Angel) Goodman, Steve (Amy) Goodman, Leia (Alex) Swart, Alvin Hornschemeir, and Audie (Brenda) Martin .

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jasper, Floyd and Wayne Goodman; a sister, Gladys Martin; and nephew, Joe Martin.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm, Saturday, March 7 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Cremation rites will follow the visitation.

Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Long Island, NY.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Foundation.
