Robert Lee Barrett

Robert Lee Barrett, 71, passed away January 7, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.

Born November 4, 1953 in Alton, he was the son of John Robert and Mary Agnes (Purcell) Barrett.

He had been employed at the Brass Mill for the Olin Corporation for 31 years before retiring.

Robert married Bonnita Zirges on November 19, 1987 in Bethalto. She survives.

Surviving also are four sons, Terry (Stacey) Barrett of Pontoon Beach, Tony (Julie) Barrett of Bonne Terre, MO, Joseph (Niki) Barrett of Sawyerville, David Janssen of Cottage Hills; a daughter, Jessica (Kevin) Jeffries of Wood River; two grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Mary) Barrett of Cottage Hills, Fred (Theresa) Barrett of Bethalto, Tim Barrett of Wood River; and two sisters, Georgane Griggs of Sorento, and Rosemary Barrett of Wood River.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jimmy and Johnny Barrett.

Cremation rites were accorded.
