Raymond Paul Freytag

Raymond Paul Freytag, 77, passed away Saturday, September 7,2024.

Born November 15,1946 in Carlinville, he was the son of Raymond and Helen (Eskew) Freytag.

Raymond proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He loved fishing, painting, western movies, and country music. He also had a enjoyed for playing both the electric and acoustic guitars.

He had been self-employed as a landscaper. In 1967 in Carlinville, he married his wife Betty Turner.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Raymond C. Freytag of East Alton, Benjamin Freytag of Godfrey; daughter, Melissa Freytag of Brighton; two brothers, Ronald Freytag of Carlinville, Danny Freytag of Carlinville; sister, Carol Rice of Carlinville; four grandchildren, Amelia Shultz, Kyle Shultz, Khrystyne Shultz, Lyndsey Shultz; and one great granddaughter, Olive Stocks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Mitchell.

Cremation rites were accorded.
