Phyllis Renee (Davis) May

Phyllis Renee May, 69, passed away April 8, 2026 at her residence.

Born January 25, 1957 in Wood River, she was the daughter of Hubert P. and Beulah Maxine (Kirtright) Davis.

A graduate of the Lewis and Clark Community College Nursing Program, she became a registered nurse and served as Director of Nursing at local nursing homes/care centers in the area as well as in California and Texas.

On April 11. 1975 in East Alton, she married Walter Michael May. He die August 9, 2005.

Surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Tommye) Kerr of Alton, Melanie M. Rekieta of College Station, TX; and four grandchildren, Trenton Montanez, Mackenzie Montanez, Isabella Rekieta and Paxton Rekieta.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Monday, April 13 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Nurse Honor Guard rites will be presented at 12 pm.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
