Pedro Ortiz

Pedro Ortiz, 55, passed away April 29, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born April 13, 1969 in Morales, Mexico, he was the son Eusebio and Teodula (Bahena) Ortiz.

He had worked in interstate shipping and as a sandwich maker for Subway.

On June 20, 2004, he married Evelyn Herrin. She survives.

Surviving also are a son, David Hoffmann of Granite City; daughters, Sonya Russell, and  Brandy (Jon) Bresser all of Earlville, IL; 13 grandchildren; 10 nephews; and extended family members, Matias Garcia Bahena, Eva Ortiz Bahena, Maria De La Luz Ortiz Bahena, Eusubio Ortiz Bahena, Maria Del Carmen Ortiz Bahena, Jorge Ortiz Bahena, and Norma Ortiz Bahena.

Cremation rites were accorded.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, May 18 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
