Melissa Lynn (Estell) Hagen

Melissa Lynn Hagen, 55, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at her residence.

Born January 5, 1969 in Litchfield, she was the daughter of Paul and Janice (Lovall) Estell.

Raised with her foster parents, Jeanie Ganz of Piasa and the late Herman Ganz, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant at VIP Manor, then a designer for Brad's Flowers and Gifts, finally a driver for Illinois Central Bus Services before her illness.

On January 5, 1990 in Edwardsville, she married Michael Hagen. He survives.

Surviving also are three brothers, Kyle Estell of Jacksonville, Paul Estell of Litchfield, Windell Duff of Fillmore; and five sisters, Kim Cox of Vandalia, Emmy Duff and Amy Duff both of Fillmore, and Sandra Bunch and Pauline Durstine both of Litchfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parent, Herman Ganz; and two brothers, Kevin and Rodney Estell.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Monday, December 2 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Brian Magnuson will officiate.

Private interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
