Mark A. Westerhold, 65, passed away unexpectedly March 30, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Born February 8, 1960 in Colorado Springs, CO, he was the son of Raymond and Barbara (Berry) Westerhold.
Mark farmed for many years before he was employed by Helmkamp Construction as a carpenter. He later had his own lawn service, BDT before retiring. Mark was an outdoor enthusiast who loved small game hunting, arrowhead collecting, mushrooming, mowing, gardening, retreating at the Missouri cabin, vacationing, guns, and SOCIALIZING. He had a deep love for Ferguson tractors that was passed down from his grandfather, Arthur Berry. Mark loved eating out and most of all loved being with family.
He married Tracy Epperheimer on July 25, 1987 in Bunker Hill. She survives.
Surviving also are two sons, Blake (Ashley) Westerhold of Staunton, Dalton Westerhold of Collinsville; two grandchildren, D.J. Brown and Rian Schoeneweis; a brother, Barry Westerhold of Bethalto; an aunt, Judy Berry in Colorado; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, May 31 at Marks Mortuary in wood River. Rev. Dr. David Schultz will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to 5 A's Animal Shelter in Alton.
Following the service, a gathering of friends and family will be held at Wood River Moose Lodge, 730 Wesley Dr., Wood River, IL 62095
