Lucille M. "Lucy" Kruse, 97, passed away February 27, 2024, with her family by her side, at Cedarhurst of Bethalto.
She was born on January 4, 1927 in Nashville, IL, the daughter of John and Gretta (Henderson) Dintelman.
On December 18, 1955, she married William "Bill" Kruse, who passed away on April 23, 1975. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Dintelman.
Lucille was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Alton for many years; and an English and Journalism teach in the Roxana School District for most of her career. Lucy loved watching the Cardinals and all things about them and was an avid fan of Willie Nelson.
Surviving are her son, John (Barbara) Kruse of Florissant, MO; grandchildren, William (Bailey) Kruse of St. Peters, MO, Cecily (Kevin) Stoverink of St. Peters, MO; and great granddaughter, Zoey Lucille Stoverink.
Visitation will be held from 9 am until time of service at 11 am, Saturday, March 2 at the First United Methodist Church in East Alton. Pastor Edward Granadosin will officiate.
Private burial will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in East Alton.
