Lorraine E. (Ellis) Peters

Lorraine E. Peters, 93, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon.

Born March 27, 1930 in Alton, she was the daughter of John W. and Oina (Fisher) Ellis.

Lorraine enjoyed sewing, gardening, square dancing, and traveling and had worked as the office manager for Dr. L.L. "Doc" Hertenstein at Rosewood Chiropractic for 16 years before retiring in 1975.

On October 29, 1949 in Alton, she married Martin N. Peters. He died March 30, 2023.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda (John) Dunlap of Silverthorne, CO; granddaughter, Kristie (Jason) Shelby; and three great grandchildren, Beckham, Bodhi, and Boone Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, William Ellis, James Ellis; and a sister, Ruth Stassi.

Visitation will be from 12 pm until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm, Thursday, February 22 at Holy Angels Parish Church.  Father Donald Wolford will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Angels Parish.
