Lila Brooks Obituary

Lila Lorraine Brooks, 89, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at her residence.

Born November 14, 1933 in Wood River, she was the daughter of Roy, Sr. and Goldie Ballard.

Lila enjoyed puzzles, reading and animals, especially cats.

She is survived by a daughter, Heather (Joseph) Mielke of Cottage Hills; granddaughter, Amber Mielke (companion, Miranda Cole) of Wood River; and great grandchild, Quill Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel R. Brooks; granddaughter, Megan Mielke; brother, Roy Ballard, Jr.; and sister, Patricia Flanders.

Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, Tuesday, October 3 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Frank Akers will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to The Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT) Foundation.
