Laura E. Martin

Laura E. Martin, 72, passed away September 9, 2025 at Bria of Godfrey.

Born July 26, 1953 in Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of Joseph W., Sr. and Norma Jean "Penny" (Stig) Martin.

She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the healthcare field for several years before retiring.

Surviving are two sons, Michael (Jamie) Cunningham of Farina, IL, Edward (Tronda) Cunningham of Carrollton; daughter, Laura "Shelley" (Jay) Broadwater of Cottage Hills; a 'bonus daughter', Danielle (Miguel) Leon; six grandchildren; a great grandchild; four 'bonus grandchildren'; and three brothers, Joe Martin, Jr. of Altamont, Elmer Martin of Decatur, and Harry Martin of St. Elmo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arthur and Roger Martin; and a sister, Theresa Martin.

A Memorial visitation will be held from 12pm until time of service at 2 pm, Saturday, September 27 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Glen Carbon.
