James "Jimmy" Michael Gibbs

James "Jimmy" Michael Gibbs, 66, passed away May 12, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born December 15, 1959 in Wood River, he was the son of John Gibbs and Anna Mae "Annie" (Marmino) McCarthy.

Jimmy had worked as a machine operator for Hostess Bakery for many years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.

On March 25, 1995 in East Alton, he married Stacey Carlisle.  She survives.

Surviving also are two daughters, Tiffany Hubbard (Kyle Batson) of Wood River, Kayla Hubbard of Bethalto with whom he had a special relationship; three grandchildren, Ryan, Lucas, and Theo; a brother, John Gibbs of East Alton; two sisters, Cathy McClure of Morton, Cindy Gibbs of East Alton; half-sister, Robyn Gibbs of Paducah, KY; and best friend, David Peach of Wood River; and very dear neighbor, Mildred Zappa who was by his side.

Cremation rites were accorded.
