James Ray Lair

James Ray Lair, 67, passed away January 6, 2025 at his residence.

Born August 13, 1957 in Springfield, IL, he was the son of Lindell and Glenda Mae (Watson) Lair.

He married Jo Lynne Portwood on September 17, 1977 in Carlinville.  She survives.

Surviving also are two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a step-great grandchild; and two brothers, Gary Lair of Virden, and John Lair of Poplar Bluff, MO.

Cremation rites were accorded.

A memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 25 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Mark Scandrett will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
