Imogene Maxine Woodson, 83, surrounded by her family, went to her eternal home with Jesus on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on November 29, 1940 in Chattanooga, TN. She wa the daughter of Louis L. and Mary Delores (Garcia) Esparza.
Imogene grew up with her many brothers and sisters. She was always a warm smile and dedicated worker in the factories that she was employed. After many years of hard work, she retired and enjoyed spending her time with the Lord in church and Bible studies. She cherished her time with her three boys, many grandchildren, and other family and friends.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Woodson. She leaves behind three sons, Ken (Sandy) Jackson of Fenton, MO, Rob (Mindy) Jackson of O'Fallon, MO, Jon (Penny) Woodson of Bethalto; nine grandchildren, Macey, Makenzie, Marissa, Nicky, Jessica, Reese, Chelsa, Gage, and Emily; five great grandchildren, Cayne, Charlotte, Tyler, Landon, and Keelynn; and two brothers, Nick Esparza of Fenton, MO, and Johnny Esparza of Wood River.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; five bothers, Pete Esparza, Joe Esparza, Louis Esparza, Ignacia "Chico" Esparza, and Jesse Esparza; four sisters, Angela "Angel" Dunn, Tomasita Sine, Mary Alice Feldman, and Mary Grace Esparza; and her first husband, Billy Jackson.
Funeral service will be in the Chapel at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto at 12 pm, Tuesday, February 27. Pastor Mark Burk will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to Landmark Worship Center in Bethalto.
