Harold E. Stauffer, 84, passed away November 5, 2025 at Alton Memorial Nursing and Rehab.
Born March 17, 1941 in Griggsville, IL, he was the son of Christopher R. and Beatrice (Eaves) Stauffer.
Harold had been employed as a Chemical Processor at Boeing Aircraft for 40 years before retiring.
He married Betty Smith on September 28, 1961 in Rosewood Heights. She survives.
Surviving also are a son, Bob Stauffer of Wood River; daughter, Sheila (Mike) Mayer of Alton; three grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Fenoglio, Cody R. Stauffer (Roxie Strohbeck), Casey L. Stauffer; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Stilwell in Tennessee, and Beverly Conger in Sun City Center, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles R. Stauffer; and two sisters, Betty Jo Simpson and Roberta Gannon.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Wednesday, November 12 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. David Graham will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
