May 9, 1944 ~ September 15, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old
Gary Lee Druessel, 79, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 with his family by his side, at home in peace, after complications due to a stroke and vascular dementia.
Gary served in the Army during Vietnam over in Germany with his wife, Janet Buske by his side, whom he had been married over 55 years until her death. When they returned, Gary attended Ranken Technical School where he earned his trade as an electrician. Gary was a union man and part of the brotherhood of the IBEW Local 1 out of St. Louis until he retired.
Gary was hard working and there was nothing he could not fix. He was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and wife. He had a strong faith in God. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River and served on the board of trustees for a time. He enjoyed spending time outdoors at his home in the country.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Druessel and spouse, Bradley, Shelly Puckett and her spouse, Gregory; two grandchildren, Caron and Jolene; and two siblings.
Private family service will be held for immediate family members at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River.
Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
