Freddie Gene Dhue, Sr.

Freddie Gene Dhue, Sr., 85, passed away January 27, 2025 at Evercare of Jerseyville.

Born October 15, 1939 in Centralia, he was the son Forrest P. and Ruth (Hudson) Dhue.

He had worked as an assembler for the Ford Motor Company before retiring.

On October 31, 2002 in Alton, he married Janis Fowler. She survives.

Surviving also are a son, Kevin (Patti) Dhue of Moro; step-daughter, Bobbie (Scott) Watson of Brighton; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Dhue of Alton; four grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Caleb Dhue, and Deborah Wolford; and two step-grandchildren, Diana and Derek Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Freddie G. Dhue, Jr.; two brothers, Forrest L. Dhue, Billy Dhue; and a sister, Mary Ellen Dhue.

Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Friday, January 31 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where the funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm, Saturday. Pastor David Mitchell will officiate.

Burial will follow in Bunker Hill City Cemetery.
