Franklin D. Bartlett, Sr., 87, passed away September 28, 2024 at his residence.
Born March 16, 1937 in East St. Louis, he was the son of Charles Ely, Sr. and Ada Marie (Spain) Bartlett.
He had worked in the maintenance department at Wood River Township Hospital before retiring.
He married Nancy Rhyne on December 27, 1939 in East St. Louis. She survives.
Surviving also are four sons, Franklin D., Jr. (Elke) Bartlett of Medina, OH, Scott (Linda) Bartlett of Wood River, Darren, Sr. (Paula) Bartlett of Godfrey, Tony Bartlett, Sr. of East Alton; three daughters, Cindy (Mark) O'Brien of Rosewood Heights, Shelly (Greg) Kruckeberg of Meadowbrook, Penny (Jon) Woodson of Cottage Hills; 25 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Bartlett, Sr.; two brothers, Charles Bartlett, Jr., Jack Bartlett; and five sisters, Dodie Rhyne, Francine McGeehan, Agnes Jacobs, Peggy Rhyne, and Ellen Newton.
Private service and burial were conducted at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Rev. Eric Scottberg officiated.
