Frances Ward (Ward) Zurheide Husmann

Frances Ward Zurheide-Husmann, 88, passed away January 6, 2025 at Christian Hospital-Northeast.

Born November 2, 1936 in Salem, IL, she was the daughter of Orville "Doc" Ward and Ruby (Harris) Ward.

On August 18, 1956 in Mattoon, she married Frederick W. Zurheide, IV. He died in 2013. She then married Robert A. Husmann in 2015. He died in 2020.

Fran served as the financial secretary at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River for over 25 years. She was an avid "Bridge" player, and enjoyed her relationships with the staff and her friends over the past 10 plus years at Asbury Village. She was a proud member of the SIU-E Women's Club.

Surviving are a son, Frederick W. (Melissa) Zurheide, V; daughter, Gayle Repetto; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 11 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River. Rev. Dr. David Schultz will officiate.

Burial will be in Rest Have Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, IL.
