Ervin Willard Chapman, age 88, passed away on June 12, 2025 at Country Side Manor in Aviston, IL.
Born March 15,1937 in Alton, IL, he was the son of the late Agnes (Kasting) Chapman.
A U.S. Army veteran, Ervin worked as an operator for Shell Oil Company for 30 years, and retired in April of 1999.
He married his wife, Sandra Jean McCoy on July 1, 1961, in Wood River, IL. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Diana (Darren) Carlisle of Wood River, Jenny (Aaron) Byron of Edwardsville; four grandchildren, Drew (Carly) Carlisle, Brendan (Kayla) Carlisle, Zoe Byron, Sophie Byron; and four great grandchildren, Kinsley, Samuel, Joel, and Delilah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gloria Smith; and a great grandchild, Daniel.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 am with a service following at 11 am at Marks Mortuary on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
Memorials are suggested to Dementia Society of America or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
