Elizabeth "Liz" McCaslin, 95, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Born September 18, 1929 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Hoops) Chambers.
Liz loved the Lord her God with all of her heart and soul. The love of her life, Keith McCaslin entered into heaven almost 10 years ago on November 24, 2015. They are now worshiping around the Throne of God together. Keith and Liz were faithful servants of Jesus Christ their entire life together. They began their journey at Johnson Bible College as students. Liz worked along side of Keith as he served churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and Missouri as their preaching minister, and they ended their journey as part of the St. Louis Christian College family as staff and professor for 43 years. Liz served as the cook for a short time and spent most of her time serving in the library at St. Louis Christian College. She was one of the most positive ladies you would ever meet. She was known for her laughter and sweet spirit. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Wood River.
Liz is survived by two children, Margaret Ann (Mel) Schuchardt of Rio Rancho, NM, Walter (Carol) McCaslin of Wood River, IL; grandchildren, Sara (Brian) Mulholland, Courtney (Greg) Anselmo, Dale (Brianda) Schuchardt, and Jonni McCaslin; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph (Jan) Chambers, Harry (Jan) Chambers;and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and beloved sister, Laverne Dailey.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Monday, May 5 at First Christian Church, 160 E. Lorena Ave, Wood River, IL. Mike Pabarcus will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in Wood River.
