Doris June Tennikait, 98, passed away December 15, 2025 at her home in Godfrey.
Born October 12, 1927 in Jerseyville, she was the daughter of Harold and Vera (Lowe) Murphy.
Doris had been employed as a Logistics Manager for the U.S. Army Troops Support Command in St. Louis for 32 years before retiring in 1989.
On August 28, 1948 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River, she married Marvin Tennikait. He died December 5, 2000.
Surviving are a son Gregory (Justina) Tennikait of Bethalto; daughter, Barbara Starman of Roxana; five grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janet Tennikait of Alton; and a sister, Martha Bright of Bethalto.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kert Tennikait; and two brothers-in-law, Johnny Ingold and Harold Bright.
Private services will be conducted with interment in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River.
