Debra Kay Dugan, 64, passed away September 5, 2025 at her residence.
Born July 12, 1961 in Alton, she was the daughter of Allen and Helen (Hopper) Davis.
She was a country girl at heart who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Thrift shopping was one of her favorite adventures—she could spot treasures where others saw none. Her love of interior design and arts and crafts meant she was always creating, always adding a personal touch of beauty to the world around her. Her home and her heart were filled with the animals she loved so deeply.
Her "fur babies" were her constant companions, bringing her happiness and comfort through all seasons of her life.
Debra was someone who embraced her passions, and she will be remembered for her creativity, her love for her animals, and her unique way of making life her own.
She is survived by her three daughters, Denise Dugan (James Eberhart) of Wood River, Deandra (Sean) Gallagher of O'Fallon, MO, Danielle (Casey) Hancock of Bethalto; several grandchildren; a brother, David Davis in Colorado; and a sister, Nancy Meyer of Midway.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Duane Dugan.
No services have been scheduled at this time.
Cremation rites were accorded.
