David Gregory Barach

David Gregory Barach, 80, passed away November 29, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born September 18, 1945, he was the son of John, Sr. and Dorothy (Karapandza) Barach.

A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, David worked for Clark Oil/ Apex Refining for 33 years as a carpenter/installer before retiring in 2002 when the plant closed.

On March 25, 1972 in Edwardsville, he married Carol Althoff.  She survives.

Surviving also are a son, Doug Barach of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Barach, Jr. , Melvin "Mickey" Barach; and sister, Dorothy Smith.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Friday, December 5 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.  Rev. Dr. David Schultz will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
