Daniel Joseph Townsend, Sr., 61, passed away March 1, 2024 at his residence.
Born July 29, 1962 in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of Virgil Townsend and Pauline (Pelan) Metts.
Daniel had worked as an Avionics Engineer for Boeing for 35 years before retiring 2001. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, weightlifting, camping, and hunting.
He is survived by a daughter, Alexandra (Mark) Harrison of St. Louis, MO; son, Daniel Townsend, Jr. of El Paso, TX; and grandchild, August Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Townsend; and step-father, Jerry Metts.
Private service and burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
