Dale Allen Barker

Dale Allen Barker, 84, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born May 7, 1939 in Alton, he was the son of George William and Suzy Lucille (Jones) Barker.

He had been employed as a machine adjuster for the Olin Corporation for 40 years before retiring in 1997.

On June 2, 1979 in Bethalto, he married Mevel Elaine King. She died April 11, 2007.

Surviving are sons, Dale Eugene Barker of Alton, William Allen Barker of Aurora, IL; daughters, Faith Ann Militello of Alton, Mary Theresa Cruse of Ft. Worth, TX, Yvonne Marie Barker and Andrea Marie Barker both of Bethalto; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and his companion, Patricia Bassett of Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; seven brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, Wednesday, November 22 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Frank Akers will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
