Cynthia Marie (Boyer) Melton

Cynthia Marie Melton, 77, passed away 10:39 pm, Friday, June 14, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Alton on December 16, 1946, she was the daughter of Raymond and June (Neunaber) Boyer.

She had worked as a medical transcriptionist at local hospitals for 35 years before retiring in 2009.

On July 11, 1986 in Wood River, she was married to Austin "Hoss" Melton. He died May 10, 2001.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Ann (Doug) Woods in California; sister-in-law, Ellen "Krickett" Boyer of Jackson, MO; nephews and niece, Cliff R. (Sheryl) Boyer of Bunker Hill, Travis (Heidi) Boyer of Windsor, IL, Jordan Downs in California; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Clifford J. Boyer.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.  No services have been scheduled.
