Christopher Rodney McCollum

Christopher Rodney McCollum, 62, passed away February 7, 2024 at his home.

Born in Granite City on November 16, 1961, he was the son of William Edward and Myrtle Hazel (Eastep) McCollum.

He had worked as a union laborer for Local #338 in Wood River.

Chris married Darlene Marie Bush. She died December 12, 2021.

Surviving are a son Devon McCollum of East Alton; two daughters, Whitney McCollum of East Alton, Sarah Tharp of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren; two brothers, Dean McCollum in North Carolina, Peter McCollum in South Carolina; and two sisters, Shireen McCollum in West Virginia, and Robin Marshall in South Carolina.

He was preceded in death his parents; wife; and two brothers, Derek and Brian McCollum.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Thursday, February 15 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
