Chris Timothy Bort

Chris Timothy Bort, 55. passed away December 24, 2024 at his home.

Born January 13, 1969 in Alton, he was the son of Jerald Dean and Joyce Verlee (Heuer) Bort.

Following his retirement from the Rosewood Heights Fire Protection District, Chris was an electrical engineer for the Bayer Corporation for 17 years.

On January 24, 2014 in Edwardsville, he married Sabrina Politte. She survives.

Surviving also are a daughter, Heather Brown of Wood River; brother-in-law, Kelly Stearns of Edwardsville; and three nephews, Sam Stearns, Spencer Stearns, and Simon Stearns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Cara Stearns and Teri Ann Bort in infancy.

Visitation will be from 10am until time of service at 12 pm, Tuesday, December 31, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River. Rev. Dr. David Schultz will officiate.

Private interment will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Riverbend Humane Society.
