Charlotte J. (Koonce) Spaeth

Charlotte J. Spaeth, 92, passed away April 2, 2026 at Nexus of Wood River.

Born September 21, 1933 in Macon County, IL, she was the daughter of Orthy and Ethel (Stewart) Koonce.

On August 16, 1953 in Niantic, IL, she married John M. Spaeth. He died December 7, 2005.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Marjorie) Spaeth of Lombard, Daniel (Chris) Spaeth of Paducah, KY; daughter, Deborah (Randy) McBride of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Julie (Josh) Baker, Greg (Chelsea) McBride, Sarah Spaeth, Ashley Spaeth; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Koonce of Maroa, IL, Thomas Koonce of Richmond, TX; two sisters, Phylis (Ike) Jackson of Decatur, IL, Dorothy (Jack) Turner of Columbia, IL; and sister-in-law, Michelle Koonce of Harristown, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Spaeth; and brother, William Koonce.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 11 am on Saturday, April 11 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Kevin Carrothers will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
