Cecil Paul Wade, 76, passed away September 28, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born November 17, 1947 in Jonesboro, AR, he was the son of Edith (Berry) Wade.
A Vietnam Army veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1967-1968. Cecil was awarded a Purple Heart during his tour of duty. He was active with the Patriot Guard and Combat Veterans Association.
He had been employed as a financial officer for local banks before retiring in 2012.
He married Kriste L. Smith on June 1, 1991 in Alton. She survives.
Surviving also are a son; daughter; granddaughter; great granddaughter; two sisters, Phyllis (Tony) Celletti of Rock Falls, IL, Barbara "Sue" Johnson of Kerrville, TX; brother-in-law, Richard (Sharon) Smith of Staunton; sister-in-law, Toi (John) Schell of Vienna, VA; Uncle Neil Petterson (Frank) in Florida; a very special veteran brother, Larry Meyers of Cottage Hills; a his fur baby, "Rusty".
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a sister, Delores Robinson. Visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Wednesday, October 2 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Dan Smith will officiate.
Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey led by the Patriot Guard. Military Honors will be presented by Alton VFW Post 1308.
