Carol Ann (Knott) Smith

Carol Ann Smith, 71, passed away August 25, 2024 at her home.

Born December 14, 1952 in Alton, she was the daughter of Ira Louis and Helen (Cooper) Knott.

Carol had been employed in the bakery department at the Wal-Mart in Carlinville.

She married Roger Chapman who survives.

Surviving also are four daughters, Angela Allsman, Amanda Greer both of Carlinville, Tina Depper of Bethalto, Stacey Depper of Belleville; four sons, Jacob Allsman, Michael Bone and Mike Greer all of Carlinville, Bobby Depper in Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kandice Smith; and her best friend, Jacob Allsman, Jr.

Cremation rites were accorded.
