Betty LaVonne Pittman, 88, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at her residence.
Born January 28, 1937 in East Alton, she was the daughter of Rev. Louie and Genevieve (Bragg) Estes.
She had worked as a dental assistant for Drs. Mark West, DMD and Edward St. Peters, DMD for many years before retiring.
On April 12, 1958 at the Forrest Mission Assembly of God Church, she married Charlie G. Pittman. He died January 30, 2013.
Surviving are two sons, Rev. Mark (Nikki) Pittman of Kansas City, MO, David Pittman of East Alton; daughter, LaVonne Timmins of East Alton; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Stephen) Huch, Crystal (Rob) Coleman, Melissa (Kenny) Morales, Mark Allen, II (Emilie) Pittman, Emma Ferron, Isabella Pittman, Genevieve (Gio) Luna; a sister, Judith Morrison of Plainview, IL; adopted son, Dr. Edward St. Peters, DMD.; nieces and nephews, Harold Hagler, William Pittman, Dianne Teal, Kyle Pittman, Robert A. Morrison, Jonathan and Greta Morrison; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 3-6 pm, Thursday, January 29 at East Alton Assembly of God Church where funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am, Friday. Pastors Mark A. Pittman and James Hooker will officiate.
Private burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to East Alton Assembly of God Church.
