Barbara "Barb" Anne (Mitchell) Shirley

Barbara "Barb" Anne Shirley, 80, passed away September 2, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born March 25, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Iva M. (Friese) Mitchell.

Barb had worked in the accounting department for Christian Hospital Northeast for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing.

Surviving are a son, Eric (Tina) Shirley of Quincy; daughters, Debbie (Greg) Kospie of Wood River, Lisa (Brian) Trust of Bethalto; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Counsil of The Villages, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Mark Shirley.

Private services and interment in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto were conducted.
